Beautiful Waterfront Wedding: at the Catamaran Resort, San Diego ➸ November 29th 2014

Lets just start by saying, being a part of this wedding was very much so a huge honor. I met Julie early last year when I collaborated with a close friend of mine, Stefanie Hirsh (www.stefaniehirshphotography.com). I believe, Julie met Stefanie through her sister-in-law's husband who works with our husbands! (Whew! Haha! We all are connected, some way some how...I swear!) Anyways, we did a beautiful boudoir shoot that Julie made into a lovely wedding gift for her now Husband!

I loved everything about this wedding. Julie, her Mom and Bridesmaids were just down right amazing! Julie wanted a "undone" etherial looking updo with LOTS of boho vibes! We kept the makeup timeless yet elegant. The venue...the weather...just stunning and all her cute D.I.Y. touches were just perfect!

The love between these two is magnificent! I wish them the world!  It's times like these, that make me appreciate what I do. It doesn't feel like work or "the daily grind"...I just feel so much love and gratitude to be able to share this with you all!

Spanish Hills Country Club Wedding: Jenna & Eric ❤ October 19th 2014

This was definitely one of my favorite weddings this year! I got to attend as a guest and be there to do any touch ups/behind the scenes...example: hairspray, pinning or touching up lips ect. It was so fun getting to be there to not only see the all the love but getting to watch the entire experience for them was pretty phenomenal. Jenna's look was timeless and elegant. Everything a Bride should be! With that said, her hair and makeup were flawless. She contacted me within 12 hours and said she had never felt so beautiful!! To Jenna and Eric, may you have a blessed marriage full of love and laughs! Although the wedding fun is done and over, always remember this moment and cherish it forever.

Bridal Before & After: October 20th 2013 Wedding at Spanish Hills Country Club

I had the honor of doing Janet's makeup for her big day! Janet and I actually met years ago at one of the first salons I worked in. One of my mentors Kristy, referred her to me. I worked under Kristy, and saw Janet every time she came in for cut & color. We always got along so well and it was amazing to reconnect with her years later! It was so fun getting to work side by side with her just like old times! We had an absolute blast and the wedding party was a riot! Janet's incredible spirit and kind heart made my job so easy and having known both ladies since I first started my career, made it that much more special!

I absolutely loved Janet's bridal makeup. Her eyes were definitely the main focal point...as you can see! I used soft, neutral shadows, a waterproof gel liner and LOTS of individual lashes! Also went with a gorgeous pink lip stain, which really tied the whole look together.

Message from the Bride: "You did an amazing job! So talented!!! Thank you for making me so pretty on my wedding day."

Why SPLURGE when you can SAVE: My lipstick secret

Who doesn't love a good bargain?! I know I do, and I am going to share with you one of my "go-to" lipstick secrets! Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy.

I get compliments all the time and for only about 5 bucks...how could you go wrong? I have done my research and it's come to my attention that this is a so-called, "dupe" for several MAC lipsticks! High Tea, Viva Glam V and Viva Glam VI just to name a few. Now, this is all just hearsay, but it definitely seems like a shade MAC would carry.

It is one of the most beautiful light pink shades I have ever come across. It's the perfect pinky nude shade...light, but not washed out. There is also a very light gold tint to it. The gold isn't shimmery nor frosty. Just a hint, which shows well in photos and sunlight. It adds a beautiful sheen to the lips, which is rare in "long wear" lipsticks. They tend to become dry and crepey but I haven't had that problem yet. It is one of the most unique and natural shades that I have ever seen!

I just had to share this gem with you all! Enjoy! xo

Long Lasting, Picture Perfect Hair...it's possible!

I know what your thinking! Long lasting curls? NOT POSSIBLE...I cannot tell you how many times in the past 6 years have I heard, "My hair does not hold a curl." Well, I bet I can prove you wrong! One thing I take pride in is, soft, tousled, and gorgeous curls! I absolutely love this look. It's timeless and will never go out of style.

The photo below is of one of my brides, Edelyn. She got married to her hubby, Jake at the Braemar Country Club. She emailed me recently and said her hair lasted the entire night AND the next day! That's what I'm talking about people! :) With the right product, skill and knowledge...incredible hair is possible! I just love seeing my brides looking flawless! I take pride in the fine tuning...After all, this is one of the biggest days their lives!

Engagement Sessions: Corey & Sarah

Ladies!!! An Engagement Sesh is the perfect opportunity to do your trial before your big day! This is also a way to put the hair and makeup to great use. The most popular reason to take engagement photos? Save-the-Dates! I absolutely love when the couples show off their unique personalities with creatively themed shoots. I had the pleasure of doing the hair and makeup for one of my very dearest friends. Here's a little sneak peek!

A little note from the future bride: "I can't stop looking in the mirror, you are so talented at what you do. I never thought I could feel this pretty! Thank you SO much, it turned out amazing. My hair and makeup is unbelievable."

Airbrushed Bride: Amy

Wedding season is officially upon us! Here is recent bride of mine...(The photo doesn't do justice, it was on my old iphone)

Amy went with airbrush...This is something I pretty much do on EVERY single one of my brides. It is flawless coverage, yet doesn't feel like ANYTHING on your skin! There is a reason why you hire a photographer for your big day...right? WELL, get your makeup airbrushed to make those special and timeless photos, phenomenal!! Who wouldn't want glowing, flawless skin? I also can cover scars, tan lines, sun burns, and more! We also went with a more dramatic eye with custom individual lashes. Again, who would't want big, beautiful and gleaming eyes on their wedding day? :) I enjoyed Amy's fun and laidback personality. We enjoyed a lot of laughs and I am honored to be a part of her special day!

Vintage Vixen!

This here is one of my all time favorite looks. Call me old school, but there is just something about vintage hair and makeup that I absolutely just adore! The hair is a little more complex than the makeup. This particular style, victory rolls, actually dates back to the war years of the 1940's. (The victory roll is a stylized 'do that features architectural rolls) The makeup is simple. A perfectly winged eye, flawless skin and a bold crimson lip. Ever since I was a little girl, I've admired the vintage pin-up style. I myself, enjoy rockin' this look! It's timeless, classic and beautiful.

Airbrush Makeup

Custom blended airbrush makeup: (This is a silicone based makeup intended for flawless coverage. It's sweatproof, wipeproof, & cryproof). Traditional powder or liquid based makeup can settle into pores and wrinkles as well as it being visible on camera. I use a professional airbrush compressor, all done by freehand. It's adjustable and can appear not only very natural (non-heavy like traditional makeup) but also can be full coverage (if needed). I have covered scars, burns, tattoos, tan lines ect...It wears longer than traditional powder or liquid foundation and it able to stay put upwards of 12-24 hours. The technique is more sanitary than traditional makeup application due to me never actually having to touch the skin directly.
